SF est un artiste visuel (zodiac, balance) de Winnipeg dont les films ont été présentés dans des festivals et des lieux marginaux à travers le monde. Il est diplômé d’un baccalauréat en études cinématographiques de l’université du Manitoba et produit des images en mouvement lo-fi depuis 2010. Son travail a été récompensé par le WNDX Festival of Moving Image, the Ann Arbor Film Festival, Onion City Experimental Film and Video Festival, Festival du Nouveau Cinema, FLEX Florida Experimental Film and Video Festival, et le Milwaukee Underground Film Festival. En 2018, il reçoit le prix Winnipeg Film Group Manitoba Film Hothouse Award. SF is a visual artist (Libra) from Winnipeg whose film and video work has screened at underground festivals and marginalized venues worldwide. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Film Studies at the University of Manitoba and began conducting lo-fi moving image experiments in 2010. His work has received prizes from the WNDX Festival of Moving Image, the Ann Arbor Film Festival, Onion City Experimental Film and Video Festival, Festival du Nouveau Cinema, FLEX Florida Experimental Film and Video Festival, and the Milwaukee Underground Film Festival, and was the recipient of the 2018 Winnipeg Film Group Manitoba Film Hothouse Award. In addition to producing his own work, SF presents the work of others currently as the program director of the WNDX Festival of Moving Image, and formerly as the co-founder and of the Winnipeg Underground Film Festival and Open City Cinema. «Trigger Warning nous présente de simples objets ménagers provenant d’une liste publiée dans le Harper’s Magazine de décembre 2016. Mais cette liste est tout sauf innocente. Composé d’une série de « natures mortes » tournées en 8 mm, ce court métrage adopte une approche minimaliste et une structure symbolique qui dévoilent une conscience sociale et politique. Trigger Warning est un film qui utilise un dispositif simple pour créer un impact profond. Un film dont l’intrigue et le dispositif piquent la curiosité, mais qui nous amène à regarder au-delà du cinéma et de l’art.
