LARRY GOTTHEIM
Larry Gottheim est une figure majeure de l’histoire et du développement du cinéma d’avant-garde américain des années 1970. Son œuvre reprend souvent la structure simple des tout premiers films, mais s’inscrit également dans la lignée des pratiques artistiques minimalistes, conceptuelles et processuelles. Gottheim est le fondateur du département de cinéma de SUNY Binghamton, premier département de ce type au sein du système SUNY et extrêmement influent.
Larry Gottheim is a key figure in the history and development of American avant-garde cinema in the 1970s. His work often shares the simple structure of the earliest films but also relates to minimal, conceptual, and process art practices. Gottheim is the founder of the extremely influential and first cinema department in the SUNY system at SUNY Binghamton.
